You Spot it, You Got it!!!

What issues keep coming up in your life that continues to plague you? When you find something or someone continues to appear in your life that causes you distress, anger, or fear, it may be time to look inward on the message your feelings are sending you. We all have inner demons that appear causing us to be upset. When you find yourself upset, confused, or reacting in a very negative manner, it may be worthwhile to look at those dimensions within yourself that are similar. Thus, "You spot it, you got it." It is highly likely that you are upset by something in someone else's behavior, it is because you have a similar issue or problem within your own life. As the Pema Chodron quote reveals, problems will continue to appear and cycle in our lives, until we find out what we need to know. The biggest clue to being on the wrong track with problems and relationship will come from a position of blame, victimization and/or anger. Once these emotions arise, redirect yourself from looking outward. Let these "problems" become a growth opportunity. This process will take courage, self-evaluation and honesty. It is not easy to look inward and own your own shortcomings. Essentially, the only way out is through. Once your internalize your reactions can you break out of the negative cycle and silence those demons. Face the demon and regain freedom from negative emotions. Avoiding the demon gives away your power and keeps you in fear. Psychotherapy helps you move into your inner sanctuary with trust and safety in a non-judgmental manner.

Today is a good day to examine what you value about your life. With the power of the mind, we can shape our reality. If you can conceive of happiness, hope, and empowerment in your life, then you can achieve it. However, if you have to be perfect, if you are afraid to make mistakes, you will not be able to achieve due to the limitations in your mind. This is what Michael Jordan said about success: “I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”  You have to take risks, try new things, and move out of your comfort zone to break old habits, patterns and rituals. Once you accept that every attempt brings you closer to achieving what you want, confidence grows, self-esteem is enhanced and success, purpose and meaning are within your reach. Mark Twain captured inspiration best when he said; 

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by things you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."

What can you do today to help live in the present moment, without regrets? Doing so can guide you to a greater purpose, meaning and value of self and life. Remember, what you focus on is what you cultivate. Will it be anxiety, worry, stress or the past or what gives you a stronger, more confident and loving life?

Blood Moon Phases

As you can see by this recent photo and Blood Moon phases, there are many different views across the sky returning to the original. Life is very much the same for us. We also have several special phases. There are times we feel whole and full, when we feel like we are disappearing and fading, and others when we stand out in some special or unique way. Since change is inevitable, accepting that we will go through many phases can create acceptance. Life phases include developmental stages such as infancy, childhood, through adulthood. In addition, we move through emotional phases ranging from dependence to independence, and eventually interdependence. Humans tend to  have a tendency to judge, criticize and dismiss or resist living fully in all phases without recognizing each stage of life serves a purpose and should be valued unto itself. Affirming yourself, finding gratitude and remaining positive, loving will make each stage better and more special. Take a moment to consider how you are viewing your phase. Are you able to see the beauty and differences of these unique Blood Moon Phases? What about in your life? Can you accept and recognize the your value in each stage or phase. Find the beauty and meaning, happiness will follow.
